There have been a number of dollmakers who really miss being able to share their ideas with others by submitting articles to their favorite doll magazines, and to reap the benefits of other doll makers’ experience through the same media. We all hope to see more and more articles by grassroots doll makers in both Dolls Beautiful and International Doll Artist in the near future, but in the mean time I’ve been asked if I had any interest in posting some of their articles here.
Since I am now a full time RVer and no longer have a studio, or any way to try these ideas myself, I can only urge you to do so, and then leave your comments under the appropriate article letting us all know your thoughts about it. If you try making something presented in one of the articles that will be posted here, we’d love to see the outcome, so feel free to attach pictures. I promise to post them!
Betty Burchfield, also well known as Little Reb in the doll world, has sculpted, produced, and dressed a number of lovely lady dolls and sent in the following article on making Victorian Leather Look Dress Boots right on the doll’s foot! I’ll have to try this sometime when I take a travel break near one of my doll friends. Remember, we want to see your efforts! Send us pictures of your finished products! Click here to read Betty’s article.

Great article Reb and one I will definitely see if I can do. The boots look great. Thanks for this article and great instructions.
She did do a good job, didn’t she? Hope to get articles from more and more readers.
