Ultra Chic has a new formula

Tony Tanner of The Porcelain Place announced that he has reformulated Ultra Chic porcelain mostly in response to a change in certain types of Kaolin supply. The new formula contains four Kaolins instead of the three used before, although the type is a bit different, and the result is a product that is still clear and clean in color, releases a little faster, doesn’t crust even if placed in front of a fan to rapid dry the castings, is still stable in firing, and is actually smoother after firing! Sounds good, huh? And the best part is that the new formula is not going to cost us more!

We loved it as it was, but I’m eager to try the new and improved version! We hope you are as well. We aren’t anticipating any change in the way we pour Ultra Chic, so those of you who have gotten used to the differences in using this product should still be able to get good results without muss or fuss. Those of you who have not yet tried Ultra Chic, be sure to read the instructions for its proper use as you’ll need to get used to using a slightly different product, but many have found that the adjustment is well worth the effort.
