Need a Christmas or birthday gift for a dollmaker?

With so much emphasis being placed on Bleuettes these days, a very special gift for that doll maker on your list might be “Bleuette Clothing Patterns, 1905-1916”, which is a hardcover book by Louise Hedrick and Barbara Craig Hilliker. Normally retailing for $50.00 per copy, this book is currently available through Amazon at $31.50, and shipping is free!

Not only is there interesting historical information included in this book, but it contains lots of beautiful, full color pictures of the outfits to go along with the patterns, and tells what trims and embroidery stitches are appropriate.

Another good book for Bleuette lovers is “Bleuette: The Doll and Her Wardrobe “ by Barbara Hilliker. This book is full of gorgeous pictures that are big enough and clear enough to refer to when painting your own Bleuettes, and also contains a good deal of history about the doll and her fashions. There are full sized patterns as well with clear and concise sewing instructions. According to the reviews, this book is a “must have”. Amazon currently has this $45.00 book for only $29.70 and again, the shipping is free.

For those of you who are interested in Bleuettes, I’ve just added some more sites to the Bleuette section of the Supplies Directory that you may find of interest. They have ready made Bleuette clothes, sewing pattern, and patterns for crocheted and knitted garments, all of which are really nice! Don’t let the weird looking link addresses throw you, they work. Enjoy browsing! And check back frequently because I add sites to the Directories on an almost daily basis. Just be sure to let me know if you have trouble connecting with any of them. Keeping these Directories current is going to be a big job, and I’d appreciate your help in weeding out sites that close down. Thanks!
