Once again the Bay Area Doll Club is planning a great show and they are getting ready for your arrival. The Forth Annual Spring into Summer Doll Festival will be held at the Hobby Airport Marriott Hotel at 9100 Gulf Freeway, Houston, Texas from March 25th through the 27th. A special room rate has been obtained, and you will want to make your reservations as soon as possible by calling 713-943-7979 to be sure they have a place for you.
The theme of this Spring’s show is Victorian Secrets and Fantasies, and have arranged to host a D.A.G. Qualified Competition for your enjoyment which will include offering the D.A.G. top awards for the year, the coveted Millie and Magge! For those of you who plan to enter a doll, the deadline is March 25th. And the winner of this award wins a free seat in a Sheryl Williams seminar at Becca’s. You won’t want to miss this, so please plan to attend and take part!
Some of the other exciting things planned for you will include a display of award-winning and instructor dolls, Vendor Make-N-Takes in the salesroom, “Ask the Expert” Doll Mini Lectures, and some free raffle tickets for some special items just meant for you! Three of your favorite guest speakers will also be available, Kathy Monier, Barbara Wilczynski, and Sue Mitchell!
Bay Area Doll Club will be presenting the Convention doll on Friday with a power point presentation. Registrants will receive a mold and worksheet and be able to buy the patterns from the Club.
Please take a minute to visit this site for further details, and take a look at the list of vendors, and the workshops that have been planned for your enjoyment. You’ll find them listed in the “Convention Documents” section at http://www.bayareadollclub.com/default.htm. So plan to go and enjoy. What a fitting way to start the long awaited spring!
