While you’re busy planning your schedule around the big doll events of 2010, don’t forget the 10th EXPO Doll Show scheduled for September 25th & 26th in Midwest City, Oklahoma! For those of us who live some distance away from where these doll spectaculars, attendance requires some serious forethought and financial planning, and it’s not too soon to start!

This year’s Expo and Doll Artisan Guild Qualified Competition’s theme is “It’s a Small World After All”, and we strongly encourage each of you to get busy and get one of your beautiful dolls ready to enter. Doll Competition Registration will be on Friday, September the 24th from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm, and those of you who will be having sales booths can also plan to get set up that day between 10:00 am and 8:00 pm. You’ll have from 8 to 10am to add any finishing touches to your booths, and after that the sales room will be open to the public! Shoppers, expect to be dazzled by the dolly items that you’ll find there!

There’ll be workshops throughout the day from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and you’ll need to be pre-registered for them to ensure that you can get in. One of the workshops this year will be taught by Joyce Murch, who will instruct you in making a costume for the Baby Stuart Candy Container that will be ready and waiting to be dressed. There will be other workshops as well, and information about them will be posted on http://ourvilladolls.com/pdbao/index.html as it becomes available, so keep your eye on that site so you can decide which ones you can fit into your schedule. The Doll Competition Room will be open for viewing from 1-5pm, so do leave time to visit that display.

The Saturday evening banquet and entertainment, which will include the Awards Ceremony and Speaker will begin at 6:30 PM.

Sunday, September the 26th will be another jam packed day. More workshops are scheduled from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, and both the Sales Room and the Doll Competition Room will be open from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm, after which the entry dolls may be picked up and everyone prepares to go home.

There’s still a lot of work and planning to be done before this show opens, and they’re looking for some volunteers to help out when it does open, so if you’re interested, contact Jody Cook at (405) 769-4567 or ourvilladolls@coxinet.net.
