Dorothy Drake will start her round of shows for 2010 with a bang in San Diego, California January 16 & 17th when she’ll also be hosting the Teddy Bear & Friends coveted Industry Choice Toby Awards. This exciting event will take place right after the show closes on Saturday, January 16th, along with a silent auction benefiting the Good Bears of the World organization.
Teddy Bear Artists will be able to obtain entry registration information on Dorothy’s site: http://www.dolls4all.com or at the Teddy Bear and Friends website. If you love Teddy Bears, plan to hang around for this event. Tickets are now available for show goers in the Doll Shop at Dolls 4 All.
But back to the Doll show itself! Dorothy reports that there she expects about 70 of our favorite vendors to take part in this show from around the country, including Michael Canadas and David Robinson from the Carmel Doll Shop with some of their awesome antiques, Beckie Decker from Texas with her fabulous Jean Nordquist line of products, and Dorothy herself will be offering the remains of a sizeable teddy bear collection at prices meant to entice! You won’t want to miss this show!
In this time of economic depression, we all need to be careful with our pennies, so make a list of the supplies you need and do your shopping in person at the show and save yourself the expense of having them shipped to you. Not long ago, I ordered a couple of wigs and a pair of doll shoes, and the shipping cost as much as the items I had ordered! Yikes! And remember, you can print yourself a ticket good for $1 off your regular admission price to the doll show by visiting Dorothy’s site in case you haven’t received one of her postcards advertising the show! Let’s go, girls! And take the members of your doll classes or club along with you. Make a day of it. Have lunch out. Kick off the New Year with a little fun!
